Puerto Banana

Description

The docks in Puerto Banana are full of crates of freshly picked bananas and you want to set sail with a loaded ship. You have to be shrewd and take some risks to make the best bids and set sail full. Puerto Banana is a game of auctions to win more bananas than others and set sail loaded. You bid, you risk it to get the bananas, but watch out! If you fail to pay the difference between your bid and that of the second bidder, you lose what you bid. The goal in Puerto Banana is to be the first player to collect 500 bananas. Each player starts with 10 bananas and the first lot up for grabs is 10 bananas. For this lot you can make a secret bid of any amount, even much higher than 10 bananas! Reveal your bid; if you bid more, pay the difference between your bid and the next lowest bid and you win the current lot. If you can't pay, you lose bananas equal to your bid! You then compare the player with the second highest bid and the player with the third highest bid, etc. The next lot has as many bananas as the one who has the most. Lots continue to be auctioned off until someone has at least 500 bananas on their cargo ship, thus winning the game.
