Beschreibung

The Battle of Rhode Island ist Band 9 der Battles of the American Revolution-Serie von GMT, entworfen von Mark S. Miklos. Das Spielbrett zeigt die nördliche Hälfte der Insel, einschließlich der befestigten amerikanischen Stellungen rund um Butt's Hill. Es gibt 64 amerikanische, britische und hessische Kampfeinheiten und Anführer, was dem Spiel eine vergleichbare Zählerdichte wie Saratoga in der Serie verleiht. Die Karten selbst können DRMs, Anpassungen der Armeemoral, Führerwechsel, taktische Vorteile, Schrittverluste oder Schrittwiederherstellungen und zusätzliche Einheiten ins Spiel bringen, unter anderem. Es besteht auch die Möglichkeit, dass das Spiel um einen Spielzug in die "Nacht" verlängert wird, in der die Briten einen Überraschungsangriff in der Nacht starten. Es gibt nur eine Handvoll exklusiver Regeln, um Details zu liefern, einschließlich einer Staffel britischer Kriegsschiffe, die Offshore-Bombardements durchführen können. Spieler, die mit dem Grundspiel vertraut sind, werden in kürzester Zeit loslegen können. Als Bonus wird Band 9 ein zweites Szenario enthalten; Die Schlacht von Newport.
