The King's Dilemma ist ein einzigartiges, narratives und interaktives Erlebnis mit einem Deckbau-Mechanismus im Kern, der mehrere verzweigte Handlungsstränge bietet, die zu vielen möglichen Enden führen. Im Spiel vertreten die Spieler die verschiedenen Fraktionen, die die Regierung des Königreichs leiten: Händler, Gelehrte, Priester usw. Die Spieler ziehen Karten aus dem gemeinsamen Deck und erleben, wie sich die Geschichte des Spiels entfaltet. Jede gezogene Karte stellt ein Problem dar, das der Rat im Namen des Königs lösen muss. Als Mitglieder des inneren Kreises des Königs prägen die Entscheidungen der Spieler die Geschichte des Spiels und bestimmen das Schicksal des Königreichs. Sie müssen diskutieren, verhandeln und Entscheidungen treffen, die die Geschichte des Reiches beeinflussen, indem sie Karten dauerhaft aus dem Deck entfernen oder neue Karten hinzufügen.
