Es gab nie einen dringenderen Bedarf an Helden. Jeder, der bleibt, muss sich erheben, muss sich vereinen und muss alles riskieren, um den verbleibenden Geist zu bewahren. Tiny Epic Defenders The Dark War ist eine Erweiterung von Tiny Epic Defenders und die neueste Folge in den Chroniken von Aughmoore. Es führt neue heroische Charaktere in Tiny Epic Defenders ein, wie den Lionkin Charioteer und den Birdfolk Shadow Walker. Es führt auch neue epische Feinde, neue gefährliche Feinde und neue Artefakte ein, aber noch wichtiger ist, dass es neue und aufregende Funktionen einführt, die die Spieler dazu bringen, schwierige Entscheidungen am Rande ihrer Sitze zu treffen. Diese neuen Funktionen umfassen einen Kampagnenmodus mit feindlichen Generälen, Fähigkeiten, die Helden erlernen können, fortgeschrittene Regionen und Karawanen. Karawanen repräsentieren die zerstörten Häuser der Dorfbewohner in dieser dunklen Zeit und sind über alle Regionen verteilt. Die Spieler stehen vor der zusätzlichen Herausforderung, diese Karawanen zu retten und sicher in die Hauptstadt zu eskortieren, bevor sie den epischen Feind besiegen können. Fähigkeiten sind nützliche Fähigkeiten, die die Spieler ihren Helden zuweisen können und Erfahrungspunkte benötigen, um aktiviert zu werden. Erfahrungspunkte werden jetzt im Spiel verdient, indem bedeutungsvolle Entscheidungen getroffen werden, die der Gruppe helfen, ihre Ziele zu erreichen. Der Kampagnenmodus spielt sich wie eine sich entwickelnde Gauntlet-Herausforderung, bei der die Spieler das Spiel mehrmals durchspielen müssen und dabei anstelle des regulären epischen Feindes gegen Generäle antreten. Die verschiedenen Fähigkeiten, die den Spielern zur Verfügung stehen, sowie die Bedrohungen, denen sie gegenüberstehen, sind einzigartig für jede Kampagne und entwickeln sich mit den Entscheidungen, die die Spieler während jeder Kampagne treffen. Wenn die Spieler lange genug überleben können, werden sie am Ende der Kampagne einem epischen Feind gegenüberstehen. Die fortgeschrittenen Regionen führen neue Bedrohungen und auch neue Fähigkeiten ein, um den Spielern im Dunklen Krieg zu helfen. Diese neuen Bedrohungen und Fähigkeiten kommen in Form von 3D-Konstruktionen wie einem riesigen Baum, in dem sich die Helden verstecken können, einem fliegenden Manticore, den die Helden reiten können, oder mysteriösen Sandstürmen! Sie spielen eine große Rolle im sich entwickelnden Kampagnenmodus. Jede fortgeschrittene Region hat eine dunkle, schädliche Seite und eine helle, hilfreiche Seite. Während die Spieler im Kampagnenmodus vorankommen, werden sie daran arbeiten, die dunklen Regionen auf ihre hilfreiche Seite zurückzuführen. Die richtigen Entscheidungen zu treffen, um diese Regionen wiederherzustellen und die Karawanen zu retten, ist entscheidend für den Sieg im Kampagnenmodus.
