Beschreibung

Der Winter ist gekommen, und ein kurzer Waffenstillstand hat begonnen. Die Fraktionen bereiten sich auf die nächste Phase des Krieges vor, einen brutalen Konflikt, der in einigen Monaten kommen wird. In der Zwischenzeit verstärken sie ihre Truppen. Dank der neuen Ressourcen, die in der riesigen Frozen City gefunden wurden, bereiten sich neue Anführer auf den Frühling vor. Der Winterschlaf ist letztendlich nur eine Tarnung für ein geheimes Wettrüsten...

Winter, ein Erweiterungspaket für 51st State und The New Era, führt neue Regeln und 54 neue Karten in beide Spiele ein, die Spieler belohnen, die nachhaltige Entwicklung über unberechenbare Aggression bevorzugen.

Winter dauert sechs Wochen – d.h. sechs Runden – und während dieser Zeit bereiten die Spieler sich auf den Krieg vor, der nach dem Winter stattfinden wird. In jeder Runde können die Spieler ihre Arbeiter zur Frozen City, einem speziellen Mini-Board, schicken, um Söldner zu rekrutieren und neue Anführer zu finden. Mit Winter hat sich das Ziel des Spiels geändert; man kämpft nicht mehr um 30 Siegpunkte (VPs), die man schnell erreichen muss, um vor dem anderen Spieler zu gewinnen. Jetzt hat man eine bestimmte Zeit, um zu planen und aufzubauen, um seine Fraktion zu entwickeln.

Winter führt eine neue Texas-Fraktion ein, die mit Menschen überfüllt ist (vier Arbeiter in der Produktionsphase) und die Möglichkeit hat, einen ihrer Fraktionskontakte zweimal in einer Runde zu nutzen.
