Chocolate Factory presents itself in the finest look of the early 20th century. Everything still seems somewhat handmade, with great attention to detail. In Chocolate Factory, you are the proud owner of your own chocolate factory. At the beginning, your factories consist only of a roasting oven, a refining machine, and a conveyor belt, on which your finished chocolate can be transported directly from the factory to the warehouse. Throughout the game, you expand your factories in each round. To do this, you recruit employees and place new production machines in your factories. Soon you will be able to produce fine chocolate, caramel, and nut candies or pralines from the delivered cocoa beans. However, you must always manage the coal available in each round, which is needed to operate your production machines. You receive additional coal when you exchange chocolate from your warehouse for coal. With the finished sweets, you fulfill your customers' orders or supply the confectionery department of one of the large department stores. Both will earn you money, and at the end of the game, the department stores even offer a bonus payment for the player who has delivered the most to that particular store. Your employees, whom you select anew in each round, assist you during the ongoing round with their special abilities and are a prerequisite for you to be able to deliver to certain department stores in that round. After six rounds of play, the winner is the one who has produced the best chocolate, candies, and pralines and has earned the most money.
