Der Fall des Bergkönigs tells the backstory to In der Halle des Bergkönig, but is a standalone game and playable without additional material. It takes place during the catastrophic war that drove the trolls from their kingdom inside the mountain generations ago. The invasion of the dwarves came suddenly and relentlessly. They flooded our tunnels, desecrated our mountain, and drove us from our ancestral caves. Trolls from all clans rushed to the heart of the mountain to defend the Great Halls. For a long time, we held off the endless waves of intruders and were able to successfully repel the dwarves. But soon it will be time for a final battle. Will we rise as heroes or will we be driven into the wilderness to fight for a pitiful survival? Sharpen your blades, brothers and sisters! Raise your hammers!
