Description Description

Inferno: Guelfi e Ghibellini in Toscana, 1259-1261 is the third volume of the Levy & Campaign series by Volko Ruhnke, designed by Italian designer Enrico Acerbi. The game recreates the faction war that inflamed 13th-century Tuscany: Guelphs and Ghibellines vie for control of cities and valleys between Florence, Siena, Pisa, and Lucca.

Players must recruit great lords and their vassals, gather provisions and supplies, then plan campaigns through a command deck. Logistics are crucial: without supplies, troops disperse. Tuscan roads are treacherous, as rebellious cities and castles can suddenly change sides, making betrayal a powerful and unpredictable weapon.

The components include a mounted map, wooden pieces, cards, boards, and screens to recreate battles, sieges, and marches along the Arbia.
