Vaesen - Gdr Horror Dei Miti Nordici - Manuale Base (GDR)
Among dark forests and remote mountains, near murky lakes and isolated groves,
outside your front door, something stirs in the shadows.
Strange beings watch you. Dark creatures lie in wait, hidden from mortal sight.
But you can see them for what they truly are: Vaesen.
Welcome to 19th-century Northern Europe. Not the Northern Europe of history as we know it today, but a land where myths are real. A cold expanse cloaked in vast forests, where sporadic cities shine like lonely beacons of industry and enlightenment, a new civilization in its infancy. In the countryside, however, ancient customs still prevail. There, people know what lurks in the darkness. And they know to fear it.
Written by Nils Hintze and based on the works of Swedish illustrator and author Johan Egerkrans, Vaesen – Nordic Mythos Horror RPG presents a dark gothic setting steeped in Nordic folklore and ancient Scandinavian myths, while the game mechanics use an adapted version of the award-winning Year Zero Engine.

Key features:
- You can create a character in minutes with ten ready-made archetypes, or use the included origin tables and let the dice decide.
- Fast and fun rules for combat, investigation, and horror.
- Rules for developing the characters' headquarters during the campaign.
- A detailed geographical dictionary of the setting in the mythical north of the city of Uppsala.
- Twenty gruesome vaesen to encounter, all beautifully illustrated by Johan Egerkrans.
- An introductory mystery titled The Dance of Dreams.
