Vaesen – Terrible role-playing game in the Mysterious North by Nils Hintze, illustrated by Johan Egerkrans, offers a dark-fantasy and horror atmosphere steeped in Scandinavian folklore.
The core rulebook introduces an adapted version of the award-winning Year Zero Engine: concise and evocative rules for investigations, combat, and encounters with horror. Ten ready-to-use archetypes allow quick character creation or generation via background tables. It also includes rules for developing the characters' headquarters during a campaign, a detailed presentation of the Mysterious North and the city of Uppsala, twenty illustrated Vaesen, and an introductory scenario, The Dance of Dreams.
