Joe Dever is a British writer and game designer. In 1984, he wrote the volume "Flight from the Dark", the first gamebook of Lone Wolf. Both the debut volume and the subsequent one sold one hundred thousand copies each in the first week of release, and the rights were sold in twelve countries around the world. The success of Dever's first book laid the foundations for the future of the entire Lone Wolf series, which has sold over 8 million copies worldwide.
