En Thesauros, asumes el papel del jefe de una empresa de recuperación de naufragios en busca de tesoros hundidos. Para diferenciarte de tus competidores, necesitarás localizar tesoros perdidos en el mar, recuperarlos y luego intentar venderlos al museo para obtener ganancias y reputación. Para lograr esto, necesitarás desarrollar tecnologías (que te ayudarán en tus expediciones), equiparte, contratar trabajadores, entrenar a algunos de ellos para que se conviertan en verdaderos profesionales en su campo, recoger mapas del tesoro, alquilar lanchas rápidas, bucear en alta mar, enfrentarte a tiburones, patrocinar la apertura de salas de exposiciones del museo, publicitar tu empresa y, sobre todo, gestionar tus diversas cuentas bancarias con mano firme (sin olvidar guardar algo de dinero en tu fondo negro). ¡Quien obtenga la mayor reputación al final de 3 años de juego (9 rondas) gana el juego!
