In Interregnum, 3-5 players strive to build a coterie of influential nobles, courtiers and soldiers who will support their claim to the throne. Important members of the court can help persuade others to join your cause, but even lowly servants often hear rumours that you may use as leverage. Other contenders will use whatever influence they have to stop you, so rotten compromises and short-term alliances will be necessary on the way. On each of his turns the active player chooses one character card he wishes to recruit and one or more cards that strengthen the bid. Other players may then decide to forfeit cards from their hands in order to block the recruitment. On a successful recruitment the character (card) stays in play and provides ongoing benefits as well as Power (VP) to the owner. Once a player gathers enough Power he or she may proclaim victory. Only if you play your cards right and outsmart the competition - the crown will be yours.
