Oltre alla fase di deckbuilding, la vera originalità di Super Motherload risiede nell'aggiunta di tabelloni verticali studiati per donare una sensazione di scavo in profondità; essi saranno aggiunti e modificati durante la partita in modo da ricreare un effetto 'scrolling' da videogioco.
