Celem gry jest zdobycie jak największej liczby punktów zwycięstwa, zanim kopalnia się zawali!

Aby pokonać swoją konkurencję, będziesz musiał rekrutować najemników, wykorzystywać ich umiejętności i zbierać cenne artefakty. Musisz jednak ciągle mieć się na baczności! Twoja konkurencja czeka tylko na okazję, aby wykupić twoich zaufanych ludzi i ukraść łup sprzed twojego nosa!

W każdej turze możesz wykonać dwie z czterech możliwych akcji:

rekrutacja najemników
wysyłanie najemników do zbierania kryształów
wysyłanie najemników do znajdowania artefaktów
wykorzystanie specjalnej akcji wybranego najemnika

Mechanika Cave-in może być opisana jako "gra budująca odrzucenie". Przy każdej akcji gracze umieszczają najemników w swoim odrzucie. Teraz kolejność odrzucenia ma również znaczenie, ponieważ twoja najwyżej odrzucona karta daje ci specjalną akcję na początku twojej następnej tury. Ale uważaj! Jeśli twój odrzut stanie się zbyt interesujący, inny gracz może zrezygnować z całej swojej tury, aby tylko ukraść odrzut od ciebie!
