Beschreibung

Corsair Leader basiert auf dem Kernspiel Hornet Leader II, enthält jedoch einige wesentliche Änderungen. Das Spiel konzentriert sich auf die Marine F4U Corsairs im Pazifik. Die 2 Kampagnen decken die Kampagne der Salomonen ab, die von Ende 1942 bis Anfang 1944 dauerte. Außerdem konzentrieren sich die Flugzeuge unter Ihrem Kommando auf den Corsair, aber Sie können auch entscheiden, ob Sie Dauntless, B-25 und B-17 in Ihre Gruppe aufnehmen möchten. Jedes Flugzeug hat seine eigenen Vor- und Nachteile. Zum Beispiel tragen die B-17 viele Bomben und sind schwer abzuschießen, aber sie sind schrecklich gegen marine Ziele und nur mäßig genau gegen alle außer den größten Landzielen. Das Spiel geht auch detaillierter auf die taktischen Optionen ein, die Sie über dem Ziel haben. In jeder Runde kann jedes Flugzeug "Offensiv" werden, was ihm einen Angriffsbonus gibt, es aber auch einfacher macht, angegriffen zu werden, wenn es beschossen wird. Ebenso können Flugzeuge "Defensiv" sein, was ihre eigenen Angriffe bestraft und sie schwerer zu treffen macht. "Langsame" Piloten können ihren Angriff mit einer Strafe "Eilen" und während des schnellen Piloten-Schrittes angreifen, und "schnelle" Piloten können warten und einen Bonus erhalten, wenn sie während des langsamen Piloten-Schrittes angreifen. Wie die anderen Spiele der "Leader"-Reihe ist Corsair Leader ein Solospiel. Das Spiel wird sowohl in PDF- als auch in Vassal-Versionen veröffentlicht.
