The land of Valeria has been suffering from a monster plague for a long time. The monsters attack the borders of the land, but also wreak havoc in the interior. Good thing the queen has a plan: watchtowers are to be built all over the land to finally end the chaos and secure Valeria once and for all. In this complex game that combines card and resource management with elements of a worker placement game, the margraves set out through the kingdom to serve their land and gain glory and honor for their own house!

Margraves of Valeria takes place in the world of Valeria - Kingdom of Cards. Players use their citizen cards to move their margraves across the game board, collect resources, deploy knights, slay monsters, and build watchtowers. On each turn, the player plays a citizen card from their hand and chooses whether to perform the banner action of the card, its citizen ability, the recall action (with which they can take played cards back into their hand), or a building action on the game board. Throughout the game, players gain influence with the various guilds and thus receive privilege tiles during the game, which either provide a bonus or are scored at the end of the game. Additionally, the collected influence also grants victory points at the end of the game.
