A great film and television director, Leandro Castellani (already a Golden Lion in Venice), revisits and tells in rhyme 22 great love stories. Stories of passion, of tragic and desperate loves that, for this reason, have made the fortune of writers, poets, and filmmakers of all time. It starts from Adam and Eve, the first couple ever, to arrive at Edward and Wallis Simpson, passing through Juliet and Romeo, Caesar and Cleopatra, Abelard and Heloise, etc... However, contrary to what the title might suggest, Passion is a book that aims to make its readers smile and therefore the author, with grace and irony, rethinks and tells these stories in verses, a composition for each couple, with a critical and amused eye. At the end of each poetic composition, there is then a small erudite note on the cinematographic or theatrical fortunes of the couple, enriched also by anecdotes and various curiosities. In the realization of the book, a close-knit team of well-known and appreciated Italian cartoonists (32 to be exact) also collaborated with passion, as the case may be, who, called to action, enthusiastically enriched each chapter of the book with a series of ad hoc humorous drawings. The final result is an original work to read, but also to look at, all in one breath, just as great passions are sometimes experienced.
