Descriptif

Relivez le plus grand siège de l'histoire ! Une vendetta s'étalant sur des décennies atteint son terrible et sanglant crescendo ! L'armada de 30 000 hommes de Suleiman le Magnifique descend sur les 500 chevaliers de Saint-Jean assiégés et le peuple défendant Malte, avec pour but explicite de les effacer de l'existence et de changer le cours de l'histoire européenne à jamais... 1565, St. Elmo's Pay est un jeu de cartes tactique asymétrique et compétitif, successeur du jeu primé 1066, Tears to Many Mothers, avec lequel il est entièrement compatible. Chaque joueur, en tant que Turcs ottomans ou Chevaliers de Saint-Jean, doit rassembler des troupes et des ressources pour surmonter les divers obstacles sur leur chemin avant que les deux armées ne s'affrontent dans un siège épique sur trois fronts sur la petite île de Malte : Birgu, Senglea et la forteresse condamnée de Saint-Elme. Chaque belle carte du jeu est inspirée d'une personne ou d'un événement réel de l'époque. Avec un accent sur un jeu tactique rapide et une réimagination thématique des événements de l'époque, le jeu n'est pas collectionnable et aucune construction de deck n'est requise. Chaque joueur prend simplement son deck et le mélange, puis le jeu commence. Remarque sur le titre : Lorsque, après une démonstration de force implacable, la petite forteresse de Saint-Elme est finalement tombée aux mains des Turcs, ils ont massacré les corps des Chevaliers et ont flotté les cadavres à travers la baie vers les deux forts restants pour les dissuader de résister davantage, de peur de subir le même sort. Au lieu de cela, les forces maltaises ont choisi de se battre avec 'l'esprit de Saint-Elme'. Lorsqu'ils ont finalement inversé la tendance contre les Turcs et les ont chassés, le peuple de Malte a chanté 'St. Elmo's Pay' - une expression qu'ils utilisent encore aujourd'hui pour signifier 'pas de pitié.' —description de l'éditeur
