A Phonebook? For Non-Player Characters? The NPC Phonebook is a handbook containing over 60 bite-size character profiles spanning fantasy, contemporary, and sci-fi settings! Each system-agnostic blurb gives the perfect jumping off point for introducing these characters into your tabletop roleplaying game. We’ve all been there- prepping for the next RPG session, trying to think of a way to spice things up- but nothing comes to mind. Or maybe you’re a player, and your GM asked you to make a new character for a one-shot, but you were saving all your good ideas for a longer campaign. The NPC Phonebook is here to help inspire you, or just let you copy wholesale so you can get to actually playing your game faster. The NPC Phonebook was funded on Indiegogo as part of Zine Month, a crowd-funding festival run by the indie TTRPG community. This 20-page zine also contains illustrations by professional illustrator Ragon Dickard, bringing even more life to some of the Phonebook's more eccentric characters. You'll also find fake ads meant to inspire more stories and even a few NPCs written by Indiegogo backers! Also, they’re called “non-player characters”, but you can totally play them. I won’t tell.
