In a time before written words, when power was the only currency,  something wretched was killed on the banks of the river. It sank into the mud and festered. Even the most cautious of travellers seek to rest their weary heads from time to time. Their sore, tired feet enter the cold, quiet riverside village expecting to find rustic hospitality but are left wanting. There is rot under Winterbrook. About the Book: The Rot Beneath Winterbrook is a system-agnostic sandbox adventure. It can be used for any system that includes fantasy themes. It puts the characters into a small village that is taking desperate measures in an attempt to deal with an evil force they do not understand, nor comprehend. The characters will take the role of investigators and then, if they choose, they will become the town's liberators of evil. However, foul deeds have been committed here. They might decide to take a different route completely. Those who die are not dead.
