Hearts and Minds, Trzecia Edycja to nieskomplikowane podejście do bardzo skomplikowanego konfliktu. Osiem scenariuszy wprowadza graczy w zaangażowanie USA w Azji Południowo-Wschodniej, w tym scenariusz po wycofaniu się USA z Wietnamu, pełne scenariusze kampanii oraz wysoką zdolność do gry solo. Gracze doceniają możliwość rozpoczęcia w dowolnym roku wojny, który chcą, i walki do końca dowolnego innego roku wojny. Gra zapewnia kompleksowe podejście historyczne, wykorzystując mechaniki, które obejmują wojnę partyzancką, różnicowanie frakcji, zawirowania polityczne i przewagi weteranów.
