Descripción

La fiebre del oro de 1849 comenzó en Coloma, California, donde se descubrió oro en las aguas del río americano. A medida que se difundía la emocionante noticia, la gente llegaba de cerca y de lejos, convirtiendo a Coloma en una de las ciudades en auge de más rápido crecimiento en el Oeste. Se reclamaron terrenos, se construyeron casas y se fundaron negocios.

En el juego de Coloma, eres un pionero que ha viajado recientemente hacia el Oeste para establecerse y construir una empresa. Puedes expandir tu propiedad construyendo puestos de comercio, hoteles, saloons, establos y puestos avanzados, además de mapear la frontera occidental, explorar ríos, construir puentes y, por supuesto, prospectar oro. Luego, para proteger lo que es tuyo, tú y los otros vigilantes de la ciudad tendrán que sacar sus armas y defenderse de los forajidos que se avecinan en el horizonte.

Jugando el juego
En cada turno, todos los jugadores seleccionarán en secreto una acción disponible en el tablero para realizar. Sin embargo, si demasiados jugadores eligen la misma acción, se quedarán "fuera de juego" y realizarán una versión menor de la acción. Una vez que se hayan resuelto todas las acciones, se rota una sección del tablero, cambiando las acciones disponibles para el siguiente turno. Los jugadores experimentados tendrán que dividir su atención entre sus propios objetivos y los de sus oponentes para salir adelante. La previsión estratégica y las tácticas astutas pueden ser lo que te distinga de tus compañeros pioneros...

Las mecánicas del juego incluyen: selección de acciones simultáneas, construcción de tableau, colocación de trabajadores y gestión de recursos. Debido a que muchas de las acciones de los jugadores pueden realizarse al mismo tiempo, el juego avanza rápidamente a pesar de su profundidad.
