Descripción
El ajedrez es un juego de mesa de estrategia abstracta para dos jugadores que representa la guerra medieval en un tablero de 8x8 con casillas claras y oscuras alternas. Las piezas opuestas, tradicionalmente designadas como blancas y negras, están alineadas inicialmente a cada lado. Cada tipo de pieza tiene una forma única de movimiento y la captura ocurre cuando una pieza, a través de su movimiento, ocupa la casilla de una pieza opuesta. Los jugadores se turnan para mover una de sus piezas en un intento de capturar, atacar, defender o desarrollar sus posiciones. Las partidas de ajedrez pueden terminar en jaque mate, renuncia o uno de varios tipos de empates. El ajedrez es uno de los juegos más populares del mundo, jugado por millones de personas en todo el mundo en casa, en clubes, en línea, por correspondencia y en torneos.
